Reflection
The most challenging aspect of this project for me was finding an accurate representation of my character’s clothes in today’s modern fashion scene. Something that would’ve helped is if we had a more set clothing list, e.g. all males wear this coat and females wear this dress then royalty have this coat.
What I most enjoyed about this project was researching my character Sir Isaac Newton. During this project we had to make write-ups and presentations on our characters. This was where I learned the most about Newton. Prior to this I did not know much about his discoveries and his influence on the science world.
With each of our classes having separate products I initially worried if my pieces would all look professional or make sense, but in the end they came out the way I intended them to. All though my art piece started out rough it ended in a good spot for my not great artistic abilities. The original piece I was inspired by had much more detail so I added my own touch to it. The math game had a similar bumpy start. Initially, when recreating the game, it was difficult to understand how it was originally played. Eventually though, I was able to explain the history of the game and how it worked.
Throughout all of the separate classes in this project I improved the most through critique on each assignment. Almost all of my feedback came from my peers, whether it was on one paper or my whole presentation.
Although we created lots of praiseworthy and generally detailed work in this project, I’m most proud of my written piece for Isaac Newton. Once we chose our characters we had to make a written piece representing them. I chose a letter. My letter was in the first person of Isaac Newton while he was communicating with members of the mint.
The renaissance had a large impact on many aspects of our life. The first being churches. The reformation of the churches has lasted until today and affected the way the modern church system works. The second is art. During the renaissance, art had regained popularity and so more and more artists began creating new paintings and sculptures of all styles. Today we are able to appreciate their work, use it to learn new techniques, and as a source of inspiration.
