My group was comprised of Olivia trussell and Luan Passos. We didn’t work well together for a few reasons. First being that they didn’t do work. So we started the project off with me trying to get them to do work and pushing them to, but eventually I got tired of it and just started to finish the work. The other reason was that even if I explained what to do to them they’d still not do it, or put it off for awhile. Once again there became less and less collaboration. Some things I could grow in as a group member is getting the teacher to help my group.
In humanities I learned a lot about interviewing, and sustaining a conversation for a longer period of time than I’m used to. While interviewing this year I think I had to prepare much more than I’ve usually done, I think this will help in future interviewing and speaking with other people. Even Though we made so many questions we actually didn’t use that many of them because a lot of it was follow up questions, relating to stories the interviewees were talking about. I used humanity's thinking throughout this project when interviewing because during the interviews I was taking notes and thinking about the product we were going to make.
This project had a lot of physics incorporated into certain products and less in others. The piece that had the most preparation was the actual lantern. This section of physics was completely new, like most of physics, the learning of it and how we were going to make a circuit to put inside the lantern. Once we made our lantern the problem was putting the batteries and the circuit inside the lantern, because mine was so long it didn’t fit. We knew we wanted to keep our amount of batteries because our light was actually bright.
In engineering I really had to work hard at problem solving in almost every aspect of the project. The first thing I had to do was help my group fix our design for the adult piece. At first our design had lots of details and a valley going to a tree, then after multiple failed drafts we had to dumb it down to just a tree that connected. The next thing we had to fix was our lantern where we had put a long battery pack under the lantern, which made us have to hide it. We hid it by building legs for it and then covering those wood panels. I was constantly using engineering thinking in this project when building.
I think this group I had a lot to offer because I built and did a lot of the tech stuff where as last project I mostly worked on the website for my group. This project I feel I deserve an A because I think I had to do a majority of work for my group. In terms of our learning outcomes I believe I was the best at content knowledge because I think that I comprehended Romeo And Juliet, and also physics circuits. I think I was strong in this because overall with our quizzes I did pretty well on each one. I think I need to grow in work ethic because this was the only project that I turned in something late.
