Reflection
Prior to this project I don’t think I knew very much or anything about the industrial revolution in England. But now I understand how it was so influential to the time, and even how it affects us today. The industrial revolution sparked the mass production of product through machines, it started by using machines to help other machines. The idea of having a machine creating power and running other assembly lines of machines is what really helped the movement. I learned this mostly through research, in the beginning my group was all over the place on what we were going to create, but through the process of narrowing it down I learned about a broad spectrum of inventions of the time. We recreated a radio, to help symbolize the invention of radio broadcasting. We chose this item because the shell that we made was easily doable, and we had a solid idea to use less materials than the other inventions. I’m glad we created this item because it was easy to bring attention and then explain the box with sounds coming out of it. Our prototype process was a confusing one, we had to creations. The first was a wind tunnel, the second was the radio. In the end we decided to only make the radio, but it was really helpful to decide what would be achievable based on only using cardboard. I’m interested in learning more about Spain during this time period. What seems interesting about Spain is the power and because the country has been around so long the history of the whole place. I feel proud of my booth at exhibition, one reason why is because of how large our group was. Usually with a group of more than four people the work is hard to split up, but in this one even across classes we were all doing something. I think the reason this went so well had to do with the assigned roles. The roles were dependent on each other to work, and my group was working. This exhibition as a whole went really well, everyone was engaged, we had lots of people come see, and all of the products were well made.
