Reflection
1. How challenging was this project for you? Be specific.
This project wasn’t very challenging overall for me for a few reasons. The first being that I enjoyed my book, it made it easy to read ahead and keep up with all the journal entries. The other reason is all entries were about the book we had just read and had in front of us; all we had to do was look in the book and find the right information. One challenging aspect of this project was the comments on people’s journals. By the time we got to the second person to critique, there had been so many comments I felt it was hard to be helpful.
2. What was the easiest part. The easiest part of this project was writing the journal entries. This was particularly easy because all the prompts were specific and straightforward.
3. How comfortable did you feel while making the your film.
During the recording I wasn’t comfortable because it was just me talking alone to a camera rather than my peers. I feel much more comfortable if I was talking to a few of my peers rather than a camera that has no reaction to what I’m saying.
4. Did you receive critique and feedback from anyone? If so, who? Was the feedback helpful?
All of my feedback was from my peers, helpful or not it was critique that made me think deeper about my book. Most of the feedback was helpful, but the rest wasn’t helpful but rather just thoughts they had about my writing that didn't make me think.
5. Did you provide kind, specific, and helpful feedback in the journal workshops? Were these sessions helpful and/or fun?
During the workshops I would say my first round of critique was always the most helpful, but then the second round wasn’t as helpful but still had comments to give. I also added onto my peers comments if they made good points. These sessions were helpful to me.
6. Did you actually read the book you chose?
Yes, and I’m now reading the third book in the series.
7. What grade do you think you deserve? Why?
I think I deserve an A for this project. The first reason being that I always left critique on people’s journals. This showed that I always was participating and being involved with my peers work. I also always had all of my response's done on time or early, and actually read all of my book.
8. If you could change something about this project, what would it be?
I would change the limit of pages, or length of time between journal entries. This would help some of the people who have longer books, I know some of my peers struggled to keep up with the entries.
